Yes, Cognito Forms intake can flow into CrossLink Online. Connect Cognito Forms to SmartWiz once. Wizzy then imports the clients you select, reads their submitted information and uploaded documents, and builds a client profile you review. One-Click export enters the data into CrossLink Online, and you review side by side before filing.
How SmartWiz works
Upload a client's documents into SmartWiz however you have them: one combined PDF or a stack of separate files (PDFs, photos, scans, Excel or CSV). SmartWiz also takes your intake forms and client organizers, plus data from your intake tools like Jotform, Cognito Forms and GoHighLevel. Wizzy reads every page, splits a combined PDF into individual documents while keeping the original together, and sorts and renames each one by taxpayer, document type, issuer and tax year. It reads source documents like W-2s, 1099s and K-1s, as well as Schedule C and Schedule E intake forms, and builds a client profile you review and edit before export. Before export, Wizzy flags things you may want to fix, like a W-2 address that differs from the driver's license, so you pick the right one. For returning clients whose info is carried forward, Wizzy never overwrites existing data. It only adds the new information. Then One-Click export enters it into CrossLink Online in about 3–5 minutes (tax years 2025 and 2024), where you review side by side and file. It works exactly the same way it does with SmartWiz's other supported browser software. No Cognito Forms submission? Drop the documents in directly.
Tax offices like Cognito Forms for its conditional logic. A well-built intake form asks about dependents only if the client has them, shows self-employment questions only to self-employed clients, and collects document uploads in one pass. The result is clean, structured intake that most offices then retype by hand. Connecting the form to entry removes that last step.
The workflow
- Connect Cognito Forms to SmartWiz. Direct connection, set up once.
- Clients fill out your intake form and upload their documents as usual.
- In SmartWiz, select the submitted clients to import. Manual selection keeps incomplete submissions from coming through early.
- Wizzy processes each client's submission and documents and builds the profile, about 3–5 minutes each. Review it and fix anything Wizzy flagged.
- In Chrome, open the client's return in CrossLink Online and run One-Click export from the SmartWiz Chrome extension. For a new client, Wizzy can create the client in CrossLink Online. Review side by side, finish and file yourself.

FAQ
How do I connect Cognito Forms to CrossLink Online?
Connect Cognito Forms to SmartWiz through its native integration. Wizzy reads the submitted entries and uploaded documents, builds a client profile you review, and One-Click export enters the data into CrossLink Online. You review side by side and file.
Do I need the Cognito Forms API or JSON webhooks?
No. SmartWiz connects to Cognito Forms directly, so there are no API keys, webhook endpoints or automation tools to set up for tax entry.
Does my form design matter?
Your form keeps working as designed. The main thing that helps is collecting document uploads in the form, so each submission arrives with the documents Wizzy will read.
What comes through from the form versus the uploaded documents?
Both. The client's submitted information and their uploaded documents feed the profile, and the side-by-side review shows where each entered figure came from.
Can I keep using my form for things SmartWiz does not touch?
Yes. Engagement letters, consents, payment collection, whatever your form already handles keeps working. SmartWiz uses the intake data and documents for the return.
What if a client submits twice or updates their submission?
You choose which submissions to import, so duplicates stay under your control. Adding a late document to a client you already ran does not use another credit.
