Yes, CrossLink Online clients can use a tax organizer that feeds the return. Send each client a link. The client fills it out and uploads their documents in one pass. Wizzy reads the submission, builds a profile you review, and One-Click export enters it into CrossLink Online, where you review side by side and file.
How the organizer works
The SmartWiz organizer collects everything the return needs: basic info, dependent details, W-2 and 1099 counts, Schedule C and Schedule E intake, direct deposit and uploaded documents. The client fills it out once and submits. The organizer does not ask clients to transcribe their W-2s or 1099s; it asks them to upload the documents, and Wizzy reads them. The result is clean, complete intake in one link.
Unlike a generic intake form, a tax organizer is purpose-built for tax preparation. It asks the questions CrossLink Online needs answered, collects the documents Wizzy will read, and keeps unnecessary fields out. Many tax offices send clients a form they built themselves in Jotform, Cognito Forms or another tool. That works, and it feeds SmartWiz the same way the organizer does. If you already have a working form, keep it. The organizer exists for those who do not.
The workflow
- Send each client the organizer link. One link per client. The client can save progress and return later.
- The client fills it out and uploads their documents. W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, brokerage statements, driver's license, whatever the return needs. One submission, done.
- In SmartWiz, import the submitted client. Manual import, so incomplete submissions do not come through early.
- Wizzy reads the submission and uploaded documents and builds the client profile, about 3–5 minutes. Review it and fix anything Wizzy flagged.
- In Chrome, open the client's return in CrossLink Online and run One-Click export from the SmartWiz Chrome extension. For a new client, Wizzy can create the client in CrossLink Online. Review side by side, finish and file yourself.

FAQ
What is a CrossLink Online client tax organizer?
A link you send to clients. They fill it out and upload their documents in one pass. Wizzy reads the submission, builds a profile you review, and One-Click export enters it into CrossLink Online.
Is this the same as an engagement letter?
No. The organizer collects intake and documents. Engagement letters, consents and payment are separate. Many offices use an intake form tool like Jotform for those, and that setup keeps working.
Can I use my own intake form instead of the organizer?
Yes. If you already have a form in Jotform, Cognito Forms or GoHighLevel, connect it to SmartWiz and it feeds CrossLink Online the same way the organizer does.
Does the client need to create an account?
No. The organizer link works without a login. The client fills it out and submits.
What if the client forgets to upload a document?
Add it to the client in SmartWiz after import. Adding a late document does not use another credit.
Can I customize the organizer questions?
The organizer is a standard form that works for most practices. If you need custom fields or conditional logic, use your own intake form tool and connect it to SmartWiz.
Does SmartWiz file the return?
No. Wizzy does the data entry. You review, finish and file the return in CrossLink Online yourself.
