The fix is not becoming pushy. It is having the ask ready before the moment arrives. That is what AI is actually for.
Ask while the win is hot
Timing is most of this. The day you finish a client's return, their relief is at its peak, and a warm three-sentence request feels natural. Three weeks later, the same request feels like a chore you are assigning them.
The other half is making it easy. A link they can tap from a text beats an email with instructions. In our sessions we build the two-line text version first, because it is the one that actually works.
And there are lines this engine never crosses. Ask every client, not just the happy ones, because cherry-picking is how review profiles get flagged. Never offer an incentive for a review. Never mention refund outcomes in the ask. The engine only works if it is clean.
