Yes, CrossLink Online can receive document data through SmartWiz. Upload a stack of client documents: one combined PDF or separate files (PDFs, photos, scans, Excel or CSV). Wizzy reads every page, splits and sorts them, builds a client profile you review, and One-Click export enters the data into CrossLink Online, where you review side by side and file.
How SmartWiz works
Wizzy reads every page, splits a combined PDF into individual documents while keeping the original together, and sorts and renames each one by taxpayer, document type, issuer and tax year. It reads source documents like W-2s, 1099s and K-1s, as well as Schedule C and Schedule E intake forms, and builds a client profile you review and edit before export. Before export, Wizzy flags things you may want to fix, like a W-2 address that differs from the driver's license, so you pick the right one. For returning clients whose info is carried forward, Wizzy never overwrites existing data. It only adds the new information. Then One-Click export enters it into CrossLink Online in about 3–5 minutes (tax years 2025 and 2024), where you review side by side and file.
What Wizzy reads
- W-2s
- 1099s of every type (NEC, MISC, INT, DIV, B, R, G, K, S, SA, Q, C, PATR, OID, A, LTC)
- K-1s (1065, 1120-S, 1041)
- Brokerage statements for 1099-B import
- Mortgage interest (1098)
- Tuition (1098-T and 1098-E)
- Health savings (1099-SA and 5498-SA)
- Retirement distributions (1099-R and 5498)
- Schedule C and Schedule E intake forms
- Direct deposit details and the taxpayer's driver's license or state ID
Files can arrive as one combined PDF or individual files. Wizzy reads PDFs, photos, scans, Excel and CSV. If the client sent a combined PDF, Wizzy splits it into separate documents and keeps the original PDF together with them.
The workflow
- Add the client's documents to SmartWiz. One combined PDF or a stack of separate files.
- Wizzy reads and sorts them and builds the client's profile, about 3–5 minutes per client. Clients process in parallel.
- Review the profile. Everything Wizzy read is visible, so you see where each figure came from. Fix anything Wizzy flagged.
- In Chrome, open the client's return in CrossLink Online and run One-Click export from the SmartWiz Chrome extension. For a new client, Wizzy can create the client in CrossLink Online. Entry takes about 3–5 minutes.
- Review side by side, finish and file. The data entry is done. You review, adjust whatever the return needs, and file in CrossLink Online.

FAQ
What does AI document import mean for CrossLink Online?
Upload client documents. Wizzy reads them, builds a profile you review, and One-Click export fills the return in CrossLink Online. You review side by side and file.
Can I send a combined PDF instead of splitting it myself?
Yes. Wizzy splits the combined PDF into separate documents and keeps the original together.
What if a document is a photo instead of a PDF?
Wizzy reads photos, scans, PDFs, Excel and CSV. The format does not matter.
What if the document quality is poor?
Wizzy reads most documents that humans can read. If a scan is too blurry or damaged to extract text from, Wizzy flags it so you can check and manually enter if needed.
How long does it take?
About 3–5 minutes per client to read and build the profile, and another 3–5 minutes for One-Click export. Multiple clients process in parallel.
What about returning clients?
Wizzy handles carryforward. It never overwrites existing data in CrossLink Online, only adds what is new.
Does SmartWiz file the return?
No. Wizzy does the data entry. You review, finish and file the return in CrossLink Online yourself.
